Provisional Advisory Board

In June of 2023, based on feedback received at community listening sessions, the QCES Leadership Team recommended a shared governance and administrative model be implemented. This model would include the creation of two boards. The first would be a Corporate Board comprised of the four pastors of Quincy's parishes. The second would be a Board of Specified Jurisdication comprised of representatives of each parish and school. In coordination with the Diocese of Springfield, steps were taken to establish both of these bodies as provisional boards and they were tasked with completing an established list of mandates from the Bishop in order to form a new system.

Following an open application proces, the Provisional Board of Specified Jurisdiction was selected by the Provisional Coporate Board and recommended to the Bishop for approval. This occured in February of 2023. Since that time, the provisional board's focus has been to complete the mandates in order to establish a new school system.

One of the first major steps of these board was to create a stategic plan which would guide the future of Quincy Catholic Schools. After months of work and the input of the community, the plan was approved by both provisional boards in May 2024. It can be viewed here. Seven committees composed of Provisional Advisory Board members and community members will work to meet the objectives and visions set forth in this plan.

Updates from the boards are shared with the community. They can be found below.
